Traditional radiation shielding curtains used in X-Ray scanners and Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) contain lead, fray easily, are difficult to maintain, and contribute to inefficient jams.
The threat of lead poisoning remains a significant concern across various industries, particularly in food inspection facilities. Lead dust exposure can cause ailments ranging from chronic fatigue to severe brain damage caused by lead encephalopathy.
GoldHealth Medical has developed a patented low-friction, durable, RoHS-compliant Radiation Shielding Curtain designed to significantly increase the throughput of baggage and parcels. This flexible, lead-free rubber sheet is specifically engineered for use in baggage scanners and food X-ray scanners where lightweight, abrasion-resistant shielding is essential. Shielding equivalents of 0.250 mm Pb, 0.35 mm Pb, and 0.5 mm Pb have been achieved by replacing lead with other suitable metals.
